How do you choose the people that are going to stand with you at your wedding?
How do you choose your bridesmaids? What about the maid of honor? It can be hard to decide who will be with you on your big day but it is something most women have to do. For some of you there will be no one because you choose to not have any bridesmaids and that's ok. Your wedding day is what you and your significant other want, don't worry about what everyone else things you should do.
First off picking a maid/matron of honor should be fairly simple. Most women have thought about who they want for the honor and have it in their mind already. A way to help you decide for sure is ask yourself a couple of questions. Who have you known the longest? Who are you closest to? Who do you see as a life long friend? Who is the first person you turn to for advice or to talk things through with? Theses questions can help you decide who your be your maid or matron of honor. If you want to have more than one then do it! I personally had 3 and don't regret it at all.
Choosing your bridesmaids can be difficult. If you're like me you have tons of friends and want to have them all but know that 10 bridesmaids would be way too much to handle. So I did a process of elimination. I based it on who I've known the longest and who was supportive as well. I did go against protocol and had a back up bridesmaid in mind because one of my bridesmaids wasn't sure if she would make it. If you feel like you need to have a back up then do it, you don't have to tell them but you can keep it in mind and do a nice gift for them if it comes down to needing them.
Your wedding is your special day so just remember these are pictures you are going to see forever so you want to be careful who you ask to be involved in it.
