Probably the best part of getting married, other than gaining a partner for life, is the honeymoon! How do you plan it though? Where do you go?
Most people will plan on having kids after getting married but some people decide to wait or already have kids, either way take everything into account when planning your honeymoon!
Me and my fiance are planning on planning on doing a lot of trips for the next two years and then settling down to have kids. We have a bucket list of places to visit and know what we want to get them done before we settle down. However plenty of people want to have kids right after the wedding which is fine too! When considering that route remember that that your honeymoon might be the last large trip you take for a few years! Kids are amazing but they do require a lot of attention.
For the couples that already have children you can still have a romantic honeymoon or even do a family moon! Some resorts and even cruise lines are offering child care as an option so adults can have some alone time but still have a family fun time! I find that some people take this route because it is easiest for the family and the kids can have a small vacation too!
Either way when booking travel remember that if you feel lost there are tons of places that do package deals or you could even use a travel agent! These days travel agents can be very useful and affordable! There are also lots of options! Several travel agents will specialize in specific things and have contacts that can help you with any type of trip.
Having a coordinator for your wedding can even help you have less stress and help you with the plans for your honeymoon! If you leave right after the wedding you can trust your coordinator to have packed all your gifts and taken care of closing out things with the venue. This in turn frees up time for you to enjoy things!!
After all this is one of the biggest days of your life!
Happy Planning! Katherine
